In the grand scheme of things, this was more of a continuation of their first date…just delayed. If Rey thought her actions would’ve lead her to this spot, she would’ve had a better plan. As it was, she was enjoying the documentary and being by Buck’s side.

She felt his arm come around her shoulders, pulling them closer to cuddle on his couch—and asked if it was okay. That was utterly sweet in her eyes.

“Yeah…” she began to say, a shy smile tugging on her lips. “Yeah, it’s fine.”

Usually she was adverse to being touched by someone she barely knew, but with him…it felt different. It felt like she could lower her walls around him and risk being vulnerable without fear of getting hurt. Something for her to analyze at a later time.

The day was catching up to her, making her eyes feel heavy and body yearning for sleep. While being in her dress pants and blouse weren’t the most comfortable things to wear, Rey couldn’t bring herself to pull away. She wanted to stay where she was and enjoy the time they had together.

Her eyes flickered up to see the side of Buck’s face and found herself asking, “can I hold your hand too?”
