Rey had experienced a whirlwind of events from locating Luke Skywalker's lightsaber to being pulled through time to meet the person who started it all; Anakin. The man was her grandfather, someone who was the 'chosen one' to bring balance to the Force. If that wasn't enough, she learned of her own powers and had to be trained to use them. It was an interesting time, spending weeks learning about the man and studying under him. They developed a friendship, a strange bond between two adults who happened to be generations apart. As much as she enjoyed her time with him, she was thrust back to her present time.

Anakin was right, it was like she never left. Everyone was still at the Cantina, looking for her. The First Order arrived...it was chaos.

But that was then, and this was now. She found out about Kylo Ren and the man he idolized so much. It pained her, no, angered her to know the same person she met had turned to the Dark Side. Rey kept her mouth shut to her cousin, managing to use the Force to keep him out of her mind and push him back. Now, she had a target on her back. The events didn't go well from there, losing her friend and semi-father figure, Han.

Now she was on a quest to find Luke. The man who could or could not be father. She didn't know how many children Anakin had, though she still remembered those strong Force visions of two children. Chewie and her managed to land the Falcon on the right planet, now she had to make the journey to find the Jedi. At least the time to herself would let her deal with her emotions. She was conflicted, angry, and hurt. From losing a friend to learning some of the truth about her grandfather...it was disheartening.

"I know," she told him, not too pleased to know she had a target on her back. How many more fights would she get into it with him? How many wounds would they try to inflict on one another?

"They'll want to use me, the same way they're using him."

"I know you don't want to hear this, but he needs help. He needs to get away from Snoke." He needs to stop idolizing a man dead twice over.

"And no, I don't know how. I just know it needs doing." And going into any conflict with him thinking in terms like needing to destroy him was just one way for the Dark Side to gain traction. Luke, at least, had learned that lesson better than anyone.

Yup, she didn't want to hear it, especially since the man managed to kill one of her friends. Han was sort of like a father figure to her, even though they weren't related to each other by blood. Watching him die had been painful. She stayed quiet on the subject, not denying it or agreeing to help Ren.

"If Luke couldn't stop him, then what chance do I have?" She didn't want to have blood on her hands, so killing Ren wasn't an option..

Nor did she want to get on Leia's bad side.

Let him put his wise mentor hat on here for a moment.

"The Force is with you, Rey. Of this I have absolutely no doubt. You've already done incredible things and at least one that Luke never has." Even if they still didn't know quite how she did it, that part didn't matter. Besides, Luke didn't have you." They can be a team now, kind of.

As convincing as Anakin was trying to be, it wasn't doing well with Rey. He could tell her as many times as he wanted that the Force was with her, but it didn't add up to much. If Han and Luke weren't able to stop Ren from turning Dark, then a stranger like her would have such a slim chance. Yes, she believed in the Force, but sometimes it could be wrong...right?

"I won't make much of a difference. If I don't join him, he'll try to kill me. Or keep trying."

He sighs.

"If it hadn't happened to me, I'd probably agree with you. But there is hope for him. There's hope for the whole galaxy. Talk with Luke about what happened, what went wrong. Try a different approach. There's so much conflict in Ren the only thing that seems to make sense to him is what Snoke tells him. A new narrative is needed and it has to be something that stands up against the one the so-called Supreme Leader has created."

Rey held her tongue to keep herself from snapping at Anakin. Ren didn't seem conflicted when he ended Han. He didn't seem conflicted when she was prisoner, or when they were fighting. No, there was no use in talking back about it, Anakin was dead set that there was still hope for Ren. Yes, there had been hope for Anakin before, but it seemed like there was nothing tethering Ren to anything.

"They only way that'll happen would be if we took him away from Snoke, but that's not going to happen any time soon."

"Who says? You? If you don't have a plan, then sure it won't."

Which is rich coming from the guy who isn't exactly known for making very detailed plans ahead of time. He's more of an ad hoc planner, really.

Rey shot Anakin a look, telling him to shut his mouth about it. No, she didn't have a plan, but no amount of talking, or convincing would bring Ren to his senses. He seemed so enamored with the Dark Side.

"How about you come up with a plan and we'll go from there." she told him sarcastically.

"I'll see what comes to mind," he says mildly, hanging back a bit. "You go on ahead."

Rey hesitated with her next step, looking back at him.

"You sure?" she asked, wondering if he wanted the first meeting between her and Luke to be solely them. Once he told her to go, she did just that. Rey continued on with her trek until she reached the Jedi in hiding, offering up the lightsaber to him, showing him the item that had been passed down through the ages.

It was a bittersweet reunion. Neither of them had to say anything, they didn't need to. From the connection she felt with Anakin, she felt it with Luke. That's all she needed to know. They spent their first day talking, not going over fundamentals or anything. Rey didn't bring up Kylo Ren or Leia. She didn't want to force the issue. The next few days were spent training...something that Luke was surprised with her form and what she was able to pick up.
