oh snap well i can't answer that with certainty but i have a few theories
one possibility is that they returned poe home and removed his memories of this place when they did so, and then there was some kind of mix-up and he got brought through the portal a second time. if that's the case, the people working on that portal are total idiots.
what seems more likely to me is that it was a different poe, from a very slightly different universe. i'm working on a device that'll be able to sense if people come from the same versions of reality. the poe you knew before and the poe who is here now might be different people.

those are two names for the same person he's really called eobard, the other is just a name he stole from someone he killed he hurt eddie a lot.
