[Rey didn't know what she could--should ask Din. He had given her so much; a way to escape Jakku, shelter, a job, and more importantly a home. She didn't want to take advantage of him, make him feel as though she was using him as a means to an end. Her experience in the realm of intimacy was limited. She knew had an idea of what love was, of what two people should do when the feeling had overcome them, but she had never experienced it herself. Was it too soon to say that's what she felt?
Not a passing fancy. Not a fling, or brief heat that would pass in weeks or months? Her feelings for him were real, and there wasn't a doubt his feelings for her were the same. Yet...she wasn't sure what she wanted to do. How much she should take and when she should stop.
Rey hoped in kissing the palm of his hand that she hadn't crossed a line. Touch was very scared to both of them. Her having grown up with so very little of it. Touch starved and needing it more than she could say. Din wore layers beneath his armor, a physical divide between him and the galaxy. Perhaps, that barrier helped to numb him in a way--make it easier when he had to kill his targets. When he did touch something or someone with his own hands, his skin, it was special...magical, even.
The hitch in his breathing told her it was, giving way to a sly smile that was hidden away in the palm of his hand. She wondered what would happen if her lips travelled to his wrist, kissing his pulse. If his breathing would hitch again, or if he would hold her tighter to him? There had been nights where she wondered what it would be like to kiss him. If his lips would be as soft on her skin as hers would be on his. The thoughts left her tossing and turning, making an ache bloom in her body in a way that made it difficult to ignore...
Yet, her mind kept conjuring images of his hands exploring her body. His lips brushing over hers, and his tongue exploring her mouth. If his body would fit hers in a similar but different way.
Slowly, Rey pulled back, trying to gauge Din's reaction as best as she could. She was prepared to ask if she had overstepped any boundaries when he drew her onto her feet, pulling her into a hug. Her hair ties and pins fell onto his bed, but she didn't care. She felt the cooler metal of his helmet come to rest on her forehead, another intimate moment than made her heart race...and wish for more.
Stars, he was going to drive her insane wasn't he?]
Do you want me? [The soft words left her lips before she had the chance to think. Realization hit her instantly, making Rey bow her head in an attempt to hide the redness on her cheeks.]
I mean, that is...I would...like to kiss you. And hold you, Din. [More than what they were doing now, but was that obvious? It felt like it should be obvious. And he wouldn't be able to do much without take off his helmet.
This was all assuming he'd even say yes to her question.]
