[Time flew by quickly for Rey. One moment she was replying to a Tinder profile, the next she was meeting Diego in person and communicating with him on the phone or in a text message. So far, it seemed like their baggage went well together. They were able to understand different aspects of one another's past, and were taking baby steps towards an official date.
She made sure to keep things under wraps at work. Her personal life wasn't something she talked about to her colleagues, preferring to keep a low profile and let her work speak for herself. However, people were beginning to notice how she actually took five minute breaks to respond to a text, or how a smile came on her face as she sent off another reply.
To her friends, she looped them in on what was going on. Though, she made sure to hold back some details from Finn and Poe. Neither of them needed to know how bad she had it for Diego. Rose knew as Rey had confided in the young woman after she got home and thereafter. How she comforted Rey when she was unsure if she was doing the right, if it was okay to move on from Ben. Rey had to be reminded that this was what Ben wanted for her--for her to find someone else, and it was okay to still miss him.
With Diego, it felt like she could talk to him about anything. She enjoyed the texts he sent her, and loved hearing his voice on the phone. He didn't seem to mind the photos of BB whenever the orange tabby did something cute. More text messages, phone calls and the occasional meet ups. The first one was for a quick run, another was to learn a few defense moves. Each time Diego greeted her with a quick peck, and Rey was starting to wonder if she did something wrong. The kisses were sweet in nature, but...she missed the spark their first kiss had.
Then again, when they did have their first kiss they were close to making out. Maybe it was something she could talk to him about? Whenever she had the courage to do so. Maybe she should've said something during the first fight she watched him in? No, she had been too concerned about him after he won his match. It was something else to watch him go into a ring, get a few hits in and win. Granted, there were a few rounds, and each time she saw him get hit made her want to say something but that wasn't her world. All she could do was cheer him on from the sidelines...
Which brought them to today. An actual date between the two of them. Rey made sure that BB was back wit his parents (just in case anything happened at her apartment), and had Rose go over her outfit again. She normally didn't fret over her outfit choices, but as this was an official date...she wanted to look like she knew what she was doing.
Diego told her they were grabbing lunch, which had to mean she should dress casual. She did her hair in soft waves again, opting to go with a white collared shirt with a dark green sweater over it along with light colored jeans, and simple tennis shoes. Satisfied with how she looked, she headed out of her apartment, hoping Diego was waiting right outside her building.]
