Then you understand the situation I’m in. Poe and Finn have their reasons to be distrustful of him—very excellent reasons, but considering Ren is here, there are things he could show me that aren’t associated with the Dark Side. I’ve been trying to learn on my own but...there isn’t much for me to learn and I don’t want to do anything that could hurt someone.

I haven’t practiced with the lightsaber because of that reason.

Exactly! And I know Poe would be against it completely. He thinks there’s another way, but...really there’s not.

And...Ren gave me a book about the Force. It’s more like a notebook but, he wrote a few things down for me. I looked it over and didn’t sense anything wrong with it. Honestly, it’s more information than I’ve been able to find on my own.

well, poe doesn't have powers he didn't ask for and doesn't understand, does he?
so of course he doesn't get it. that's not his fault.
he just doesn't know what it's like, how isolating and scary it can be.

information isn't good or evil, and educating yourself (if the book is legit and not dark side propaganda i mean) is never bad

No, he doesn't have a connection to the Force. But, it was used on him. What Ren did to me, looking into my mind...he did it to another, and for Poe, he doesn't want me to turn into that. He doesn't want me to sink to that level, or be killed by Ren---but he's had chances to, but he hasn't.

...Even when I was sick at the hospital, he was there when I woke up...and stayed with me. We just...talked. Not about his past or anything, just...talked.

I don't think Poe would understand unless he was grounded for months on end and unable to do anything about it.

It doesn't look like it is. It's all in his hand writing--he has really beautiful hand writing, Cisco.

[ Beautiful hand writing? Okay... yeah. Definitely something there. But Cisco's going to keep that opinion to himself for the time being. Rey has trusted him, opened up to him, and the last thing he wants to do is scare her off. Especially if it's not something she's realized for herself yet. ]
